This project is supposed to deliver a study investigating and assessing the currently existing ownership models, and a set of new ownership models that will be applicable and realistic to the local/ regional contexts as well as informative to the legislative and executive bodies at regional, national, and European level. Different regional case studies will be developed for typical regions around the North Sea.

Objectives:

  1. To assess the existing ownership models of energy systems by visiting relevant organizations across the partnership regions.
  2. To develop new ownership models focusing on local acceptance and participation in energy systems (e.g. wind turbines, photovoltaic plants, energy conservation, biomass plants etc. That is ownership models that can handle the transition from energy sector systems to integrated smart energy systems in a way that facilitates ambitious and innovative local participation in the transition to renewable energy and energy conservation systems, and secures a dynamic communication with the central policy system.
